@listert no ... china-berry is a type of mahogany with the hardness similar to the mahogany in some gibsons and it grows in florida where i live so its my most useful material for a build with all-over balanced tone like a les paul ... it will be painted also so everything is for tone ... but ill send pictures

@listert i need a finishing tip ... if i add walnut colored grain filler to a piece of walnut to fill the pores will it do anything to the figure or should i use a neutral color filler?

@caulinrocker1 I've only used mahogany pore filler. it had a reddish tinge to it but it mostly got rubbed off again once it dried leaving residue in the pores. If anything it brought the grain out a bit. I say try it on some offcuts first.
