South Park Mac vs. PC vs. Linux

One way is to install a double boot with Grub. Grub would be the installer in the beginning where you are given a choice of Linux or Windows. You can also download Wine or Cedega for Linux which plays Windows software within Linux OS.




There are other ways but I can't remember right now. I know there is an Ubuntu forum which addresses this. You might want to check them out. BTW "Ubuntu" is a form of Linux you can download. In case you didn't know.

I'm thinking about using linux, but I'm a gamer, soooo... help?

Linux is used for lots of stuff. There are over 300 distribution or more... and for example ...
live.linuX-gamers = game
mythbuntu = free dvr
Ubuntu = web , basic game, apps of all kinds
Linux Mint = Noob friendly OS it's great for live CD's
Damn Small Linux, and Puppy Linux = runs well on very old PC
Yellow Dog Linux = runs well on Playstation 3
DSLinux = Linux to the Nintendo DS
and on and on...

Linux is used on 95% of all Disney / Pixar, DreamWorks , Sony, computers for making movies.

-Easy to use
-Great Community
-Compatibility is not that bad (some winblows nubs like to make out worse than it is)
-Not to mention fun
-Tons of different distros to try

mac : if your in the music/mvie business or to edit/make one of the two or both

Linux: to try something new, I like it since its fast so great for browsing the web and it sopensource so there are like new apps to try out like everyday almost.
