The WITCHING of BEN WAGNER (1987)
since renamed to
"BEN WAGNER" by FamilyTV.
Classic 80s from the
Disney Channel

"You can do it," says Regina.
"I KNOW you can!" appear to be
the Magick Words in Ben's Life
as a young boy discovers what
true magick is all about:
Believing in Yourself.

With Regina's encouragement,
Ben finds he can do difficult
things with ease...so much so
that he begins to wonder if the
rumors about the people living
by the lack are true...that
they are witches and they know
how to make things happen.

As Ben discover's the truth
of Regina, Ben finds a friend
who truly believes in him.

Featuring: Sam Bottoms, Harriet
Hall, Betinna Rae (REGINA),
Justin Gocke (BEN) and
Sylvia Sidney (GRAMMY).

Based on the novel by:
Mary Jane Auch.

DVD just released, available
at amazon.com or from
1-800-FAMILY TV.

This is one of my favorite
movies and I have enjoyed others
post their renditions of
classics that are hard to find,
such as when I watched the
"Worst Witch" on youtube (another
80s Disney Channel classic) while
waiting for my DVD copy to come
in the mail. As of yet, no one
has done this with Ben Wagner so
I will. I tried doing a different
way which sucked and the files
got corrupted at the end, so
this one is right off my
computer.

Not only is my upload abridged
(to prompt viewers to get DVD)
but FamilyTV has also abridged
the movie on the DVD removing
some of the witchcraft refs.
but the movie still stands as
a great children's education
film (and even for adults who
need to be reminded) concerning
the value of:
self confidence, self realization,
self honesty, self respect, self
help, kindness, empathy and
true friendship.

  • I have to say, I was about Ben's age in the film when I first saw this movie, and I really crushed hard after Regina. The dark hair, the eyes, the mystery. She's been my type ever since. This is the first time I've seen it in years and years and years -- really brings back some of those memories.

  • @darkprose ah yes, I think many of our generation shared that crush. :)

  • omg i LOVED this movie as a kid, thanks for posting it!!
