I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down: Chapter 35 Part 5

Nick yells "LOOKOUT!" Out of the corner of his eye Joe sees the ball coming he dunks himself and Lisa underwater just as the ball sails over where his head had been and just past the net. He pops up releasing Lisa and lunges at Kevin "You tried to Hit Me!" Kevin swims out of the way and looks at him innocently "Why would I do that? I was making the shot you were in the way." Joe says angrily "Because you were Jealous!" Kevin takes a step closer "Now why would I be jealous?" Joe pushes him backwards "Because I was holding Lisa!" Kevin steps forward again about to shove Joe back, Lisa steps in between them and puts a hand on each of their chests. She looks back and forth between them "Guys! Guys! Come on! We were playing a game. There's no need for this." They both look at her embarrassed. Kevin speaks first "Sorry, you're right. It's a game amongst friends (he says through gritted teeth).... Joe, I'm sorry if I almost hit you." As he calms down Kevin realizes that Lisa hand is still on his chest. He looks down at it as his heart rate increases again, he is sure she can feel it. She moves her fingers slightly as he looks up into her green eyes. "Sorry" he whispers. "Okay! Maybe I overreacted, Sorry!" Joe says as he takes a deep breath to calm himself. Lisa's attention is back to Joe, she nods and smiles "Good! I think the game is over for now. Who wants some lemonade?" Kevin smiles relieved. They all get out of the pool and go to the chairs on the deck. Lisa pours the remaining lemonade from the pitcher into three glasses. "Well I guess I need to make some more. I'll be right back." She starts walking towards the doors and hears Kevin's voice behind her. "I'll help!" he jogs up beside her and opens the sliding door, for her to enter, then follows her into the kitchen.

When they come back Lisa sits on the lounge chair and nods to Kevin to sit down beside her. They sit and chat about the interviews the guys had, had earlier. Lisa hears her phone 'New Message Received' she looks over at both Joe and Kevin "Okay, you two are here, so who's sending me a message?" Kevin gives Joe a questioning glance, Joe shakes his head and shrugs. Lisa reaches for her phone and checks the message. "It's from Colin." She announces, Joe looks at her confused "Who's Colin?" Kevin replies "that's the engineer you were working with the last couple of days isn't it?" Lisa nods and smiles happy that he remembered her talking to him about it. "Yeah!" she reads the message "Hey there's a CD release party tonight. He's asking if we want to go." Susan nods "That sounds great where is it?" Lisa looks at her phone "It's at a place called 'The Apartment'. I know he did mention something the other day but I don't remember. I kinda had other things on my mind." She glances sideways at Kevin. He notices and grins. Susan asks "Have I met this Colin before?" Lisa looks over at her "Yeah, remember that party that Neil had at The Docks, (Susan nods) Well... remember the ho--t..(she glances at Kevin).. ummm...the guy with the blond faux hawk and the eyebrow stud." Susan's eyes widen and she smiles broadly "Oh Yeah Him! It could be very nice to see Him again!" Lisa laughs "You're married Remember!" Susan signs "Yeah but I'm not dead!" the girls laugh. Kevin and Joe look at eachother questioningly. Susan then asks "Didn't he have a thing for you?" Kevin looks at Lisa waiting for her answer. Lisa blushes and looks at her feet "I think he did, but that was a while ago. Besides he's not my type." She hears a quiet sign escape Kevin's lips. Susan exclaims "Wow my first night in LA and already invited to a hot party, I Love This Town." Lisa laughs "So I guess I don't have to ask if you're up for it." She looks at each of the guys "Would you like to come?" Joe stutters a little "well... um...

Should they or shouldn't they go to the party?
Not overly happy with this part but oh well.
