***NEWS CONFERENCE*** Gloucester Township Police Unveils New Domestic Violence Family Quiet Room And Two New Domestic Violence Initiatives During Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

On October 26th at 1:30 PM in the Gloucester Township Council Room, the Gloucester Township Police Department Mayor David Mayer, the Camden County Women's Center, and the Volunteers of America held a news conference and a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Domestic Violence Family Quiet Room for Gloucester Township residents who are victims of Domestic Violence. In addition to unveiling of the new room, two new domestic violence programs were introduced. One new program will offer a weekly support group for Domestic Violence Victims. The second program is a Batterers intervention program called Family Violence Prevention Program for Domestic Violence Offenders. These new joint initiatives are being launched during the month of October in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Chief Harry Earle, Mayor Mayer, representatives of the Camden County Women's Center, Representatives from the Camden County Prosecutors Office, and officials from the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Volunteers of America were present to officially open the Family Quiet Room which will offer victims of domestic violence a safe place where they can receive assistance and guidance.

Media representatives attending the news conference had the opportunity to see the Family Quiet Room and ribbon cutting. There was also an announcement of several Gloucester Township Municipal programs/employees scheduled to receive awards from the Camden County Women's Center for their commitment to Domestic Violence Programs.
