Thought I would show my new Hori Fighting Stick in action with one of my favorite games. As you can see it works great. Back-forward motions are very easy to pull off, much easier than the control pad. The only moves I miss are from user error not the stick. The buttons are convex and very responsive to quick tapping and feel pretty sturdy. There is a 4-way restrictor plate for the joystick so as you move the stick it feels like your confined to a square area which I hear is Japanese style. It works perfectly for most 3D fighting games with lots of joystick tapping. For instance crouch dashing (where you move the joystick twice to the spot in between forward and down, or back and down) in Virtua Fighter 5 has never been easier for me as the restrictor plate guides you there automatically. Street Fighter and games where circles and half circles make up most of the moves don't fare as well with the 4-way plate. Don't get me wrong, it works much better than the standard controller and it's just fine for me, but serious Street Fighter fans may want to install an 8-way plate or wait for the Mad Katz Street Fighter 4 sticks coming in February. I bought one for my PS3 and the Soul Calibur 4 edition for the XBOX 360 (which I will post vids of later) and so far I tested them on MK vs DC (PS3), Virtua Fighter 5 (360), Soul Calibur 4 (360), Mortal Kombat Armageddon (360), Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix (PS3), Mortal Kombat 2 (PS3) and they all work great with the stick. What many previews and reviews of these arcade sticks fail to tell you is if your not used to playing with a joystick you really have to re-learn how to play most of these fighting games. For example in Street Fighter I am a much, MUCH worse player than before even though I am getting better s..l..o..w..l..y. In the end I feel it's worth it as you will be a much better player than you could with a regular control pad.
*****Update******
After extensive use with the sticks I actually prefer the 4 way restrictor plate. As an E. Honda player in Super Turbo HD Remix it works perfectly for his charge attacks. And since you don't have to completely roll the stick for it to register a move I can thorw out fireballs and dragon punches with Ryu or Ken very easily.
Will this work for SSF4?

can it be easily modded like the street fighter arcade sticks

@752ada
No not at all. You have to physically alter the stick and buttons to mod this one. So unless you can work with wires and have a soldering gun don't buy this one for modding.
