You were trying to open it the wrong way. To open it, using your for finger, push down from the top (pointy part) part of the egg and lift cover, For sanitary reasons it does not open from the sides to prevent the skin from spilling. Also if the egg gets too full, spillage will occur from the blades, You've got a lot of guts to do this video. :0 :))

Ha ha don't rub too hard you get scratches it happened to me and the bottom of my feet were so sore after . Of course I got sensitive feet. They do work though it takes a little while .
