NERD are FAR from Pop. Don't get me wrong, they have been employed to produce for alot of artists considered "pop" but the tracks they've made with those people tend to be the only tracks that i've actually found listenable from those pop acts.
Producers like timbaland recently changed their sound to get more attention from the Pop Charts (thats selling out) - Where as the Neptunes changed the Pop Charts (for a while).
