TLE&W Train Ride

Some video from our train ride on the TLE&W in Waterville, OH. This train runs on the old Nickleplate main line from Toledo to St. Louis. It is jointed rail, and has the old-time clickety-clack sound. We got to go in the engine and operate some of the controls, which you can see in my one of my other TLE&W video. This was a great trip, and I recommend it to anyone who loves trains! You can check out their website which I put at the end of the video. Enjoy!

I used to ride the "Bluebird" many years ago with my grandfather. When we rode, I remember going over the Maumee River on the bridge. The engine would turn around in Grand Rapids and again in Waterville. I remember one of the conductors from years ago. He was so nice and cool! He gave me his ticket punch that punched out corn husk patterns. I still have it.

Another thing I remember is that I got to help the conductor throw the switch in Grand Rapids and I got to ride in the engine. The engineer told me that if anyone asked, to tell them I was a railroad inspector.
