Nah 90% of the time a thief wont waste the time picking a lock, its quicker to use brute force. IE bolt cutters, Smashing a window, crowbar or just simply carding latch
-
...or is it showing you how insecure your equipment is when you use these locks? Knowing what you know now would you use a tubular lock to lock up your expensive goodies?

Quite simple with the right tool and the right tension.

@TheFourStringBassist so do you pick locks with your fingernails? because I'm pretty sure all picks are tools. you use this tool for a tubular lock because a regular set of picks is just inefficient with the type of lock

Wow. I thought cameras with 240p resolution died out with the dinosaurs.
-
your actually not picking it your just using a tool.....kinda cheating isnt it?

@Lokivoid I can't get hands on the equipment, I'll have to wait until christmas when I don't need to stay in the boarding house -.-

Tublar locks are easy to beat with impressioning, It just requires a good impressioning tool, that can match the pin count ("tublar lockpicks" use impressioning they not picks despite the name). Though if your just after drinks from the machine "hypotheticaly" most of them can be tricked by preventing anything from blocking the interupt sensor. When the drink drops it fails to interrupt the machine asumes the slot failed or is empty and refunds the credits back to the counter.

@Lokivoid You can say that... I only need to know about lock picking as I'm a school boarder, at night kitchens are locked, and you never get enough food. I was trying to pick the vending machine lock with 10 fail attempts

most thiefs do not care about showing signs of forced entry becuse it does not effect them aslong as they do not leave any evidence that can be used to identify them. In most caes they are just going to use the smash and grab apporch, only concern they would have is attracting attention wile doing so. The ones that go out of there way to not leave any signs of forced entry are generally going to have intentions other than common theft.

@Lokivoid So 90% of the time a thief want to leave traces : ) Such as you?
