kaossilator : DID U KNOW? cutting/beat slicing/breaking. by triplesquarednine

in 8step mode you cannot slice/cut/break a beat. you can only retrigger. with mild execptions, like if you bounce back and fourth between say... L. 2 to 4. get it. but what i show is how in 16beat mode. you can beat slice and grab the beat at any point to cut it...

16beat L. mode is a beatslicer that records every slice you make. this can be very useful in both making your own beats quickly, or for reimxing you composition as you play...

so far i am the only person i have ever seen do this...anyone else got some good tricks for me???

ya, i tried out the ds-10 game on my linux computer, and it sort of sux....however i am designing my own K0-1 type machine using PURE DATA(max/msp family) - and it can save midi data! so booyah!!!,

and i can design my own patches or use it with AU, VST, and pretty much anything that uses midi!

nope, it only samples its own sounds. you need a sampler for that

So you essentially used the loop function really quickly to get the cut? And were you recording? how did you get the kaoss to record the beat cutting so you could put the bass in after? but great vids man thanks!

ko1 auatomatically records the beatslicing in that mode.

but i usually cut all the way thru, over bass, synths whatever. i love the stutter..

How are you able to get your loop up to 16? Is that only available in some models? Because mine only goes up to 8.

no, can't re-trig in 16 beat i don't think because16 beat uses the spare memory used in 8 beat mode, that's why there's no cancel function in 16 mode too... not totally sure tho...
