The Blue Jays were trailing 10-0 against the Red Sox going into the 7th inning, when they began to mount an improbable comeback. With the score 10-7 in the top of the 9th inning, Ernie Whitt hit a grand slam off closer Lee Smith, giving the Blue Jays an 11-10 lead. The Red Sox tied it in the bottom of the 9th, before a home run by Junior Felix in the top of the 11th inning sealed the win for Toronto. (June 4, 1989 at Fenway Park.)
