@cornraker It is the high pressure pump in the fuel system. The first pump the lift pump takes fuel from the tank to the injection pump. This motor is common rail and injects fuel in a manner similar to a gasoline engine in that the injector controls the fuel delivery. The lift pump supplies fuel to the CP3 which is a belt driven fuel pump that creates a very high pressure. Like 25k psi.
