Some ideas for cover riffs: Henry Mancini tunes like Pink Panther, Peter Gunn. They are extremely musical and seem to leverage blue notes to sound cool. They seem built for guitar.

@ManosRK Started using triplets like this after I learned Tool's "Schism" which is full of triplets like this. Perhaps learning covers is not so bad...

@riffoftheweek THAT was my point there Dave dude! (by the way a BIG THANKS) :). If you want to just learn a riff/song there are ridiculously numerous ways to do that but for the "what's behind the picture" thing, NOPE, not so many and you do it! ((((Although - personally always - i still prefer your original things :)))))

@ManosRK - even with the abundance of cover type vids, they aren't teaching the underlying concepts/theory. I do. Take the theory behind the cover stuff and create your own licks. If you're not doing that, you're missing the point... cover series or not.
