  • lovely performance.

    About Carmen, in my opinion, if the voice is too "thick", then it is not that charming for Carmen. on this point, Conchita Supervia is my favourite Carmen.

  • I agree with you about Victoria, but I don't like very much Horne as Carmen, eventhough she's a great artist!

  • Some may agree with me and even understand what I am saying, but for me, there are only two opera singers who hit the spot when it comes to singing Habanera, or Carmen in general. And they are Marilyn Horne and of course Victoria De Los Angeles. I don't know what it is about their voices, but there is something to them, the colour, the timbre it's like it was made for the sexiness of Carmen. I could say the richness but other singers have got rich voices yet it is only these two who do it for me
