I Wonder how these guys did at states

people who talk shit about wrestlers are idiots. i've played football, baseball, basketball, and soccer. I would rather go through any 2 of those practices rather than a few wrestling matches, no doubt. Last season i was in amazing shape and i could barely walk for the first hour after my 2nd match of the day, which went into overtime. ( i won by the way, gotta love a TC (; )

im a wrestler i have to do this stuff, its hard

this may be irrelevant but i hate it when people "dislike" videos that are exactly what they're titled because if they clicked on wrestling conditioning then they are going to see wrestling conditioning... so don't be a hater.

thats pretty dumb reasoning ye have goin on there.Kettlebell swings are useful for developing concurrent ankle, knee and hip extension while sledge hammer chops for the complete opposite pattern, both of which are used extensively in wrestling.Neither of which involve the arms to a great degree, mostly legs and torso.

So you watch TV shows and videos so now you know anything about athletic training?? Come on!!
those look like mma drills, not specifically wrestling drills =S

I think MMA drills would probably resemble actual MMA drills and sparring of different disciplines than general conditioning exercises. Just because they are listening to the UFC theme song doesn't mean these resemble MMA "drills" :)

No, well, they are using kettlebells and sledgehammers, which leads me to believe they are trying to achieve arm (punching) explosiveness, which is unneeded for wrestling, and which i have only seen on "UFC all access" training videos and not on olympic wrestling training videos.

Dude you really have no idea what your saying. Just because they are using sledgehammers and kettlebells does not mean punching power is trying to be achieved, there are many other things we would do to help this. It's called conditioning for a reason. Although punching power is irrelevant in wrestling, strength and power in the upper body is a must. As far as the "UFC all access" and Olympic wrestling videos, are you kidding me? Remember your going off of things you have seen, not tried.

On top of all this if a fighter or wrestler is swinging a sledgehammer as slow as the wrestlers are in this video, there wouldn't be any "explosive" training being achieved.
