Vander Decken IX is the current captain of the Flying Pirates on their ship, the Flying Dutchman, and the eighth descendent of the Vander Decken of legend. He is a Japanese bullhead shark fish man and the one of the antagonists during the Fishman Island Arc.

@beatlefreak67 A lot of sea creatures have multiple "legs". That is the ONLY quality they share. Other than that, they look NOTHING alike. In my last comment, I said he had LITTLE to no resemblance, not no resemblance at all. The purpose for me saying "little" was to express that I do realize that they share that 1 quality.

@alphazeta99 I've read the manga which is about one whole arc farther than the anime, and I was not only referencing the likelihood of them getting owned, but I was also referencing what happens to their appearences at the end of the Fishman Island Arc
