  • oops, sorry my mistake! i thought the other comment was meant for me!!! i truely appologize for my tone there. And hey, i respect ur beliefs even if i dont necessarily agree with everything u're saying. i wish u the best of luck sir!

  • The least u could do is show others respect for their own beliefs &convictions, EVEN IF their opinions dont exactly harmonize with urs! And do NOT confuse 'War History' with History itself! They're 2 VERY different things. Goodbye Mr.Hater.

  • yes, reading and learning IS being engaged. but you dont know me, Im engaged in other ways.

what Im saying is that there is someone (just like you) on the other side telling everyone who is not a terrorist that they are naysayers.

this will never end unless WE LEARN.

    bye, man. peace.

  • You're absolutely correct, though it's the line itself that I was drawing upon. This is Leftist propaganda with big names and big budget, this time. I'd love to see the movie for all of the innaccuracies it may have, such as how long between the two joining, OCS, and Ranger school, until their deployment to Afghanistan. Again, you're right... Hollywierd Lefty Know-it-alls trying to save us from ourselves, oh and the evil Fourth Reich Empire of Reichsfuhrer Darth Bush.

  • So, reading and learning about our current efforts is being engaged? Sounds like being a student to me. By the way, I was in my 30s and with a computer science degree when I joined, and I would gladly challenge most to a history or current events quiz any time.

I would never compare myself to my brothers of the WWII generation. I said that there were naysayers back then, like yourself today, who said we should just appease the Nazis and Japs.

  • Iam engaged, no need to disrespect me.I agree we should all commit.

Thinking, studying, understanding, BEING WISE is what heros should do. THINKING IS COMMITING. reacting without thinking IS LAZYNESS. Im just encouraging a 14 to think before going into a war that is killing more than saving. killing and dying is what your enemy wants you to do. they are growing thanks to honest WRONG people like you, trsjl70.

And please dont compare yourself to de WWII generation...its funny.

  • I wish you well, trsjr70.

  • So says the guy sitting on his computer doing nothing. Have you not been paying attention to the news coming from Iraq in recent months. You people existed during WWII, the Civil War, and every other conflict. Lazy and disengaged, kept free and safe by men and women far better than yourself.

  • with all due respect i think u've misunderstood that line by Redford's character in the movie. He means the complete opposite of what u've suggested here! This is a good movie because it's sketching the political & moral dilemmas that r centered around the 2 wars, brilliantly, imho.

  • i disagree, i dont believe this movie is trying to glorify the current wars in the M.E.! On the contrary it is trying to pursuade its audience - ever so gently - to NOT buy everything their gov't tells them is right or wrong.
