About Mark Wills:
His songs speak for themselves. Of his albums, Wish You Were Here is the best-selling, with a platinum certification from the RIAA. This album's title track became his first Number One country hit in 1999, with the late 2002-early 2003 "19 Somethin'" becoming his second and final chart-topper. Besides these, six more of his singles have reached Top Ten on the charts: debut single "Jacob's Ladder", "Places I've Never Been", "I Do (Cherish You)", "Don't Laugh at Me", "She's in Love" and a cover version of Brian McKnight's "Back at One". In 1998 Mark was Top New Male Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

About the songwriters: Bussey, Nelson, Douglas
Singer/Songwriter Jeremy Bussey moved to Nashville from Alabama. He has collaborated with several top songwriters such as Bernie Nelson (over 24 million records with Randy Travis, Wynonna, Conway Twitty, Colin Raye, Ricky Van Shelton, Chris Ledoux, etc) and Philip Douglas (Ricky Van Shelton, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Billy Ray Cyrus). SPIRALHEART
The Spiralheart Team is promoting the medium of combining song and photos and looking to stage an arts festival in 2011 dedicated to this medium. Songs can evoke emotion and also strike a nerve. Looking For America does both. Team favorites include Marvin Gaye "What's Going On" Simon & Garfunkel "Look For America" Don Henley / Bruce Hornsby "The End Of The Innocence" and several from Dillon and of course tons more. It is not whether we agree or disagree with the message. It is the use of song and art to make us think and reevaluate our direction that is the key.

Looking For America (Lyrics)
written by Jeremy Bussey, Bernie Nelson, Philip Douglas

I'm chasing down a memory
Of the way that things used to be
Kids playing underneath an old street light
Knowing they were safe when they laid down at night
I'm looking for something I ain't seen in a while

I'm looking for a factory
Where a man can feed his family
Not worried about them moving it south
Closing the doors and shutting 'er down tomorrow
I'm looking for America

Chorus:
The land of the free and the home of the brave
Seems like I just woke up one day and it was gone, long gone
But I know in my heart it's still out there
Can somebody please tell me where
I'm looking for, America

I'm searching for an old church steeple
Where inside you'll find people
Who live their lives unashamed
And they ain't afraid to say God's name out loud
Yeah I'm looking for America

Repeat Chorus:

I'm out here looking for the truth
A few folks to wave the red, white and blue
Who still believe freedom isn't free
And I guess it's up to you and me to find it
Yeah we gotta find it
Cause we're looking for

Repeat Chorus:

  • @kingotbMAN we agree. it is not what we had wanted. i think we ended up 16-to-5. we added the kids in the fountain which are 2/3 non-caucasian. we will look for other photo stock libraries next time. nevertheless, we are extremely grateful for the generous terms of the library we chose for this. • One of the most appropriate songs of this day and age. Two thumbs up, and a salute not just to Mark Wills, but to the foundng fathers. Let's all work harder to reestablish the US Constitution and the government we should have become.

  • once in very great while, a song comes along that tells the truth, God Bless Mark Wills

  • @killerzomb my comment.....(1 yr. ago) was not meant to be anything, but an innocent first observation! the makers of this vid did agree with me and were not offended in the slightest. So, why bring a negative spin to other peoples comment w/ out knowing why and under what context it was made in the first place.

I truly hope that you have a blessed New Year!

  • @kingotbMAN You sir are a pathetic self hating exuse of an american remember who the founding fathers were u communist!

  • sound quality is lacking

  • You'll find that Obama taught Socialist Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals' in college. Alinsky's dedication in that book was to Lucifer. I kid you not. Alinsky promoted revolution - that is what is happening to us now.

Class warfare is being purposefully instigated. We cannot allow that to happen. We are Americans and should never allow any ideology to pit us against each other. PLEASE vote. That is how we will FIND AMERICA - together. That is our strength!!! Thanks, Mark!!

  • Thanks for the upload I will feature your vid on my channel - CA LA from a Vet. we all sltick close stay together don't panic - working together thinking of how to beat back the fleecing of Common Americans we only want decent living standard, willing to work, we always have - but, time for fairness - Social Security is NO entitlement it's drawn from "citiens contributary fund for retirement" UR own money matched by employer or self paid with interest so many die before payment its is funded
