Sing along "Gobinday Mukanday" Part 1/2 with translation by Bibi Gurdev Kaur OBE

This is a video clip of a Sloke "Gobinday Mukanday" from "Jaap Sahib" and is taken from a recently released album "IK O-unkaar". It is composed in Rag Bhairvi by Bibi Gurdev Kaur OBE who sings this Sloke with Sikh Nari Manch Jatha that she started in 1998. Her companiaons had never sung a note before and she trained them herself. The group performs many bilingual Shabads like this Sloke at interfaith events and and has performed in the past at many prestigious venues and events such as "Royal Albert Hall", "Symphony Hall", Guild Hall" "Sacred Voices Festival", "Rejoice Concert", "Coral Fusion" and many more. Non-Sikhs enjoy listening to her compositions very much and join in singing with the group as leaflets with words are generally provided.
The Sloke is sung in a melodious tune like a chant first; then the meaning of the Sloke are sung on the same tune; some wonderful improvisations / parmaans from the scriptures of the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, add a wonderful touch to the composition. The listeners can follow the Shabad and sing along with it as the subtitles in Punjabi and English are also provided in this video clip.
In 2006 Sikh Nari Manch was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Award for Voluntary Service for its work with the community at large.
