About Michelle Suna:
Born in New York City, Michelle Suna, who has been painting for close to three decades, drew national attention when her large work "Incoming Storm Over Sagg Pond" was featured in Will Smith's 2005 movie "Hitch" and also in "Music & Lyrics" starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. Her "Verdant Poppy Field" oil on canvas was sold at Christie's benefit auction for Tsunami Relief and was chosen by the curator for the event's image. Her works have been exhibited in galleries both in New York City and the Hamptons.

Nature and her very personal view of it, continues to remain the subject of her attention as she is fascinated by pristine forms and the bold magisterial landscapes that they create.

The viewer, able to enter into Ms. Suna's paintings and photographs without the muddle of artifice or barriers is guided by her innate aesthetic sense, which is both direct and evocative. She explores color, light and form in a unique and courageous manner, without pretense or fear and produces a sublime integration of abstracted reality in her work.

Michelle Suna studied art and communications at Syracuse University, interior design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and worked for the architect, Richard Meier. This multi media discipline, coupled with her passion for life, nature and art is vividly exemplified through the development of a large and diverse body of work.

Participation in the world of professional offshore yacht racing offered Ms. Suna the opportunity to travel, to paint and to photograph many places such as Brittany, France, Southern Ireland, Western Spain & Portugal, Switzerland & Germany. For the last eight years, she has been living and working on the East End of Long Island, producing many unique and meditative series of paintings and photographs, influenced by the exquisite light and landscapes of the region.

Highly aware of preserving and protecting the environment, she is always planting in her garden filled with lush evergreens and exotic perennials, which overlooks the sunset upon the shore. Her involvement in charities includes donating painting to FACES (Find a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures), the CTF (Children's Tumor Foundation), Edwin Gould Child & Family Services, Amaryllis Farm Equine Rescue, the Retreat (helps victims of domestic violence) and the Hamptons International Film Festival in which her brother, Stuart Match Suna, is Chairman of the Board.

Private collectors include CSI Miami's Paul Guylfoyle, NBC's Mike Taibbi, Chairman of Air America Radio Mark Green, Eric Clapton, Dieter Dierks, Ted Baker's Ray Elvin, Corina Forstmann, Queens Councilman Eric Gioia and Lisa Hernandez, Elizabeth and Mark Gormley, Trish and Edward Burke, Jr. among many others.
