This video was from March 2010 when Julian Baby Ruth was 2.5 years old, although Julian's has been watching this video since before he was 2 years old.
Watch his reaction to "someone will hit a 500 foot homerun" This kid is so focused...he notices so many details that I don't.
We went on Youtube to watch baseball players and Bryce Harper showed up in our lives. I think Julian and I (his Dad) were watching Bryce's main video when there were only 300,000 views...now there are 1.6 million views and counting.
Congrats to Bryce Harper and his family. From Julian Baby Ruth and our family to yours, we wish you lots of success...we hope you keep getting Bigger, Stronger & Faster. We will be following your career (even if it is against the Philadelphia Phillies...haha) and we hope you have fun playing it.
This video shows how intently Julian focuses on baseball plus he just likes to have fun. You can see him studying the moves/motions/swing of Bryce Harper. Now Julian is 3 year & 4 months and he rarely watches the main Bryce Harper Video. However, we have watched almost every video posted of Bryce Harper which includes his many college games. It really is amazing to see how Julian intently studies Bryce or any baseball player.
Side note: I just read two days ago that Bryce had the most homeruns in college (29)...Congrats again to Mr. Harper!
I wonder if Bryce will watch Julian Baby Ruth's video....as Roger Clemens once said: "Watch Out, this kid has a mean swing." I (as his Dad) have always had good hand to eye coordination, but Julian's swing looks like a Master Piece / Artwork...it is beautiful and fluid. I have always wondered if he learned it from Bryce (the Natural) or if it just came naturally to Julian?
Similar to Bryce, Julian was going to try out for his first baseball team at the age of 3 years & 3 months, but we were not sure if we should encourage it (plus you are supposed to be 4 years old by April 30th, 2011 which is not the case for Julian).
I think Julian is ready for a team...he actually always talks about "his team" which includes Shane Victorino (Julian's Buddy), Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Brad Lidge, Cole Hamels. Julian plays baseball everyday and it is a great learning tool to teach him about team/respect/numbers/counting (he is only 3 now) in addition it helps his social & listening skills. Julian loves most sports (like Hockey, Basketball, Football, Golf, Tennis, Volleyball with a Balloon, but he has a passion for Baseball.
A few weeks back, Julian went to the try out for his first baseball team. Julian was clearly smaller than the other 5 & 6 year olds, although I think his skills seemed rather similar. He may have not been able to take instruction as well, but I am not sure. I have seen coaches try to give Julian advice and he has intently listened.
- Also, Julian isn't able to squeeze the baseball glove yet, although he is great at fielding.
I want my boy to have fun and enjoy life, but I also want to feed his passions (baseball). I prefer to play baseball all by myself with my son (which won't be for much longer), but I don't want to slow his progress down either.
