The main sewer line is clogged with grease.
First sign of back up:
1) Basement Shower or bathtub fills up with dirty water on its own.
2) Toilet bowl in the basement gurgles and overflows into the basement shower/bathtub.
Solution?

  • plumbingking75.....everything is fine with $49.95...how is everything with you? :)

  • that's the worst smell i ever smelt shit smells better than old rotten grease

  • you got that right!

  • I don't think his machine had a foot switch

  • You are right, it did not have a foot "switch" but it did have a foot "pedal" that was connected to an air switch via a rubber hose to minimize the risk of electric shocks due to water around the machine (in some cases).

  • I asked the same thing. I just don't get it. They don't charge a call out fee or dispatch fee, just the $49.95. The cost of insurance and truck to the job would cost me more than that. Not including wear and tear on the machine, That's not even considering paying the tech and taxes.

  • Not yet...:(

  • Thats good!, is it possible you can provide us more information on it?

  • He is simply unclogging the sewer line. The clog was in the trap and there was a lot of water filled up in the back of the house. Therefore, the mechanic did the "smart" thing and jumped the trap while the cap for the in-line was still on to prevent water possibly filling up the pit and causing a mess. When water comes out from line-in, it fills up the pit sometimes. And the mechanic knows what he doing because the job was done properly and the customer did not have a backup since this cleaning.
