I bought quite a few LPs of Mathis in the late 70's and early 80s. There's something about her voice that I always liked...her coloratura was infectious, although her higher notes tended to be somewhat pressed. Nevertheless, I love her.

Edith Mathis is the Annchen of course, not the Agathe.

I was quite wrong! I viewed the dvd today and the Agathe is indeed Arlene Saunders and the Agathe is Edith Mathis,but the production is definitely NOT the one from which this clip is taken. So the identity of the pretty Agathe on this clip remains a mystery....
