Some months ago I found the whole concerto (a studio recording) here on Yt, with Pletnev and Fedoseyev again. I tried to hear it again but I fear it's no longer avalable.

love the effortless way he plays, but yet so powerful! love him!

John Lennon's playing the flute at 09:50. XD
It's interesting to hear Pletnev's rendition of this piece.

@copferthat : Unfortunately, I think he only loves young boys, though ;-)

I'm impressed by the energy he brings to the concerto. Most performers tend to play it the Horowitzian way: bang out the most powerful sound available. Now, don't get me wrong; when Horowitz did this, it was pure art. But you can't imitate excellence, and Pletnev has coped by reinventing the concerto in his own image, carefully crafting it into an emotional masterpiece. Thanks for posting!
