To view the source video: http://www.dirtyshirt.info/tools_tie_down_video.html This is an inexpensive and effective way of using rope to secure a load to the bed of your truck or cargo holder of your SUV. This method is at least as good if not better than most of the tie-down solutions that can be purchased and it is completely customizable.

  • Thanks for the kind words everyone and I hope it helps you get your stuff moved without worrying about everything coming undone.

I've moved kids back and forth to college and tying down a canoe are a couple of the more challenging uses for this technique that come to mind. They all made it in one piece.

  • Good video. Thanks.

  • Quality video. You're highly articulate and an excellent teacher. Thanks!

  • That's pretty much how I was taught to tie down stuff to trucks, too. The only thing I do different is make a figure eight knot for the loop that holds the load instead of just an overhand knot. I find it much easier to untie.

Also, I love the way you cinch down your coiled rope! that is WAY easier than how I do it. Well, how I did it before I saw this, as it were. :)

  • Great video. Thanks.

  • Thanks - very useful.

  • i used it ! thnks

  • Thanks! I took a video on my phone of your technique so I can watch later tonight. Im moving my bed... Much appriciated!
