It was in Santiago de Compostela (Spain).

What can I say? stunning!!!!!!. Hallenberg put the house down after EACH of her inteventions. She is nowadays' Ariodante without any doubt!!!

And the contertenor was really really good.

Pity that Sardelli made a lot of cuts :-(( (fortunately not to Ariodante's score, but to all the other characters')

Indeed, many cuts. But anyway that is the best Ariodante I have seen.

...works by Purcell and Händel, I was willing to abandon myself to the most pleasant flow of music. I must say that my expectations were totally fulfilled in that wonderful recital. BUT....there were no bravura arias in the programme nor in the first encore and nor in the second. At the end, Christophe Rousset addressed the audience and said that Ann Hallenberg would sing a third encore: DOPO NOTTE!!! Those surrounding me didnt realize what an invaluable experience they were about to live...

Anna singings much with brillance in it, but only occasionally something from the Inside other than good decisions....Sometimes she also appears like Cecelia where she is just singing 'stuff' with no inner movement....
