If you don't mind the extra expense of speeding tickets, this car might be for you. I've put a lot of cash into it for repairs over the past couple years. New clutch (kind of helpful when it comes to driving), new timing belt (so as to not blow up the engine), battery, etc. To be honest, I was kind of tired of sinking money into the thing, but I think I've covered most of the bases. Except the vent fan just gave out recently. No big deal. Tinted windows are pretty cool unless you get pulled over, and then you have to add $115 to whatever speeding ticket you're being served ($440 was the most I've ever had to pay). Plenty of character marks on the bumper, hood, doors, etc, to give it that 'broken-in' look that new car owners long for. Sun roof goes up and back whenever you ask it to. Power windows and locks are pretty cool. 2 master keys included (don't lose them, I had to pay about $270 for one). Pretty awesome rims, considering they're factory. 17" 45s. The tread is getting a little low on the all-seasons. Budget for a new set by the end of next year. I have winters on rims but they're not included.
The previous owner did something weird to the air intake to make it sound pretty cool, and it has a nice blow-off sound as well. The thing goes like snot, so be warned. My wife hates the acceleration, and yours will, too. Can't handle the g-force, especially doing 80 out of a traffic circle. The electronic stabilization is pretty good, unless you're into drifting, in which case you just disable it with one button, then slip-slide away to your heart's content.
It's a 5-seater, but the back middle belt doesn't work. Not like you're going to put 5 people in it ever. It's even got car seat tethers if you're strange enough to put an infant in it. The back seats fold down, but if your'e reading this, it's probably because you're a VW fan and you know this already.
I've already replaced it with a 2011 5-speed 2.5L Jetta Sportline. Honestly, it's a great car, but doesn't have the pep that this baby has. Especially on the highway, when you 'need' to pass someone uphill. You can be fully confident it will do what you ask it to.
It's not even at 230000 km yet, so in VW terms, it's almost broken in. You'll have a lot of fun in it, I promise. Just don't crash it, or I'll hunt you down.
It's got a decent after market stereo in it with an aux-in jack that I used for my iPhone all the time. Other than that, nothing special. Just a wicked fun car in a colour I'll also miss (but my wife hated the colour, too).

$4444.44.
