I made one of these a year or so ago using the same concepts. I used an RGB LED rather than 3 separate LEDs, and I used a lower resistance value for the green die's current-limiting resistor to compensate for the lower output.
@deshapoui Thanks:) An interesting question! Try a setup with 3 photoresistors. Put a color filter in front of each one - red, green & blue. This may or may not work - depending on ambient lighting conditions. If you wish more accurate and foolproof setup, use a cheapo VGA camera at lowest resolution. Perhaps you might be able to analyze the data stream on the fly (Arduino doesn't have enough memory to store an entire frame). Failing that, use an SD card for temporary storage. Cheers! - Dr. Ivan
