dutchganesh, precisamente porque es sumamente pesado cuatro reversas vendrías mejor que dos. No obstante los motores exteriores tienen mayor riesgo de ingesta de objetos y por eso prescinden de ellas, a mi entender. Un saludo.

I Agree that was more on an impact then a landing but there was a LITTLE ;) crosswind to deal with.

The A380 has only 2 thrust reversers as it is a heavy aircraft and two is sufficient to slow down the aircraft on landing. Also, since the A380 has a large wingspan (79.8m), the 2 thrust reversers are on the inner engines (2,3) to prevent anything from being sucked into the engine when the wing stretches beyond the width of the runway.

What?! Crosswind? By a huge lake in Wisconsin? Nonsense...

That was sarcasm, folks! As I live in Wisconsin, I know it probably felt like a small hurricane. I can barely drive the minivan on a Wisconsin windy day much less land a gigantic plane gently.

The A380 is only fitted with 2 thrust reversers and they are on the inboard engines.. this is to stop FOB (Foreign Object Debris) from entering the engine and causing an explosion.

The engines dont "explode" if they ingest small items.

Most objects generally go through the bypass duct, damaging fan blades in the process.
