Dougal has taught me so much, not just how to ride properly, not just how to sit a buck, rear or bolt, not just how to jump. He's taught me patience, having a sense of humour, determination. He's taught me that falling off is just another excuse to get back on. He's given me the motivation to strive to prove people wrong, to do him proud and make him the pony I know he is. He's gone from nothing, a horrendously green, unpredictable, unlikable horse to one who has proved so many people wrong, including myself. I'm sorry I ever doubted him because he has become more than I ever hoped he would. He has been the most frustratingly difficult thing to work with, sit on, handle and bloody hell, there have been so many times were I have just wanted to throw him out the window. But I'm so glad I didn't because I am just so proud of him and, honestly, proud of myself because he's taught me, most importantly of all, that I CAN do it.

Wickle Dougal update.
He's been a good boy. Schooled him last night and he went so nicely at the end, even if he did put up a bit of a fight at the start. AAAAND, the little beast can finally do turn on the forehand! You have no idea how much I have struggled to teach him this but he can fianlly do it. Yesss!
There is a jumping competition on at Colliemore on Saturday and I was invited, by my friend who is going, to go and do the clear round on the Doug but I have a concert to play in. Oh well.
I forgot to mention, my Pony Club had an awards ceremony a couple of weeks back. Me and Dougal won Most Improved Horse & Rider in the Senior section. So so happy! Reading over the notes from each rally/camp over the year the instructors is a bit mad. He used to be such a willy at PC, he would just bolt and buck all the time, just a total mad thing. And he couldn't even go over a trotting pole straight, let alone jump over a jump. He couldn't canter without a rodeo fit, our flatwork was shoddy, cross country was beyond laughable and I rode like a sack of tatties. Now he is just an absolute star, tries his heart out, occassionally bucks me off but hey, Dougal will be Dougal.
Won a £25 voucher for local horse shop, a giant rossette and a medal. How lovely is that? Clever pony.
In a bit of a soppy mood. And I feel as high as a kite. Should probably go and channel some of that energy into something productive...like homework.
Oh and one day I am going to make a giant fail vid of me and Dougal. That is a promise. You will probably pee your pants at our horrendousness.
this is great, i love it :]
cant wait for the giant fail video! :P

@MintyBabesxo haha, will have to find a song long enough to fit them all in first. :L Great, all I have to do is change his name then, haha! Before his old owners got him he was called Wagner. How revolting is that?! Thanks. (:
