History of Location:
Ramiro Dalcir and his family are native of Paraty. He has been creating his ceramic sculptures for over 32 years. The unique feature of his ceramics is that he uses the traditional techniques of local Indian techniques. All of his sculptures are cooked on gas oven, at high and low temperatures and he does not use a wheel. His work is considered to be contemporary art. He has had shows in Brazil and Italy as well as at the local Casa do Cultura. He welcomes students from Italy and other countries and provides classes for groups and individuals who would like to learn his technique.
Sustainable Features:
Dalcirs work incorporate traditional processes of ceramic making of the local Indians, thereby, helping to preserve, cherish, and sustain the local culture of Paraty and the area. He supports local community incentives and art events. He has released two books about his art- on in Italy and one in Brazil
