I love this song because our government feeds us bs from birth to think that being a soldier is so great, but in reality, war is hell (to say the least). the government doesn't care about any of us and every soldier is really just a "disposable hero" the bureaucratic machine pumps out and exploits to get more money and then just tosses it. Just ask yourself what you're fighting for? maintaining "prosperity" for the rich and greedy? for the ones making you work 50 hrs a week for a worthless wage?

In my opinion, this blows every other metal song I've heard out of the water. The long intrumental opening/ break, the surprisingly good anti-war lyrics, the catchy tune, the crazy good guitar solo, the attention to detail ( love those little triplets on the cymbal in the bridge,) as someone who loves all genres of music when done well, this is what I'd show a metal hater to prove heavy metal can produce masterpieces too. This bit of brilliance is what got me interested in metal to begin with.
