Prince Rama Varma breezes through the sparkling composition of Meenakshisuthan on Shri Guruvayoorappan, tuned in Raga Nattai by Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar. It is amazing how clearly Varmaji enunciates the lyrics even at this high speed. The swarams that follow are also in a class of their own - spontaneous, vibrant, joyful and explosive.

  • Thanks for this video. I love this song. Is there a better audio in any album? I'd love to hear this song without any disturbances. Thanks.

Very grateful for this....One Varma a day keeps the blues away...?

  • Thanks a lot for this...I attended this concert and it was wonderful. One doubt. I guess the chembai version is in "Gambheera Nattai" even though this looks more Nattai kind of...
