Is God a Liar?

Why doesn't god give us the same proof of his reality that he did those in the bible? Is he a liar?

The vast majority of Christians have never seen a Physical miracle at all. The simple miracle they have had is a changed Heart. From selfish heart to a God loving heart. Luke 16: 30-31 puts it well. If even a man rose from the dead they will not believe. God gave humans a man who predicted His own rising from the dead and rose from the dead. Yet, the non-believer has this great proof and still does not believe. John 20:29. Blessed are the ones who never see, yet believe.

@MRGV7373 People who claim changed hearts believe in other religions and other gods. This is no evidence to anything but human nature. Horus, Mythra and other dying gods also predicted the same events who preceded this Jesus character. There is nothing new or true in christianity. It and its contrived holy book are the last great invention of the pagan world.

@LivonianKnight Well the "back then" Netwriter and myself are referencing is during the supposed life of Jesus; the life of Moses; etc.

As regards Pentecost; you've apparently not read the story. Which is pretty standard for Christians. Start at Acts 2:1 and read to the end.

@Goldberg43 Speaking of liars...you should probably Google 'hell in the bible'. Matthew 13: 49 & 50, and Revelation 20: 14 & 15, just to make it easy for you. Lots of fire and torture to be had. There you go, I know the Bible better than you do, AND I don't lie about it's contents. It is a nasty, ugly book.

@chilimaan When I say "back then," I am referring to the time of Jesus' ministry to within the last century. And yes, during that time, there have been "billions" of people who have come to believe in Jesus Christ. Besides, if you read the Bible, and non-biblical history, you can find plenty of references to Judaism and Christianity. If you say there is no record of people believing without miracles, then what do you say about Peter's sermon at Pentecost where many were saved?

@ChipArgyle You should know better your bible man, and learn that there is no "Burning hell" nor does any "King of Darkness" as of satan is often described by ignorant people like you, there is a book that describes hell like that and its called "The Divine Comedy" by Dante Alighieri because in not a single part of the bible there is mentioning of a place for torture, read your books first then you can say whatever you want.

This is very much one of the better arguements here I feel.

More for the fact of just how strong the arguement is, and how quick it can be delivered then anything else.

Where creationists give you endless junk after junk after junk, forcing you to spend too much time refuting that junk instead of actually putting your own side into the mix, this is more of a bullet to the head of Religion.
