I've had this piece on one of my first few electronic music CD's and it kept me fascinated ever since. I always thought there's a fair similarity from classical ages to some modern electronic sound, although true classics lovers would rather knock me off.
Callas herself is fine in her ways, but why to seal a piece of music, that is timeless, to a certain period of time? Why not open up one's horizon and share the streams of the ages...

Different ideas are only interesting if they reveal some truth. Otherwise, they're worthless. If there is a purpose to music, an aesthetic, then one can judge music based on how well it achieves that goal.

The singer is black American sopranist Charlae Olaker who lives in Germany
Apologies for my exageration but having loved this aria, sung by Callas, te Kanawa, Bertoli etc, for so long I find this hard to take.
