@scvs2 I don't beieve there is a fighter with reverse thrust, that feature is more common on larger aircraft

Is it normal for f/a-18's not to have an HUD, as is in many other military aircraft.

The F?A-18 has a HUD, not in the back seat though. And all military fighters have been designed with a HUD with the exception of the F-35 (due to the JHMCS, helmet display)

i have always wanted to be a pilot. what kind of grades did you have in college? was it hard to get a seat? would previous flight experience be of any benefit in applying? thanks for the vid, really cool

You need above average grades and a technical major would definitely be beneficial. Getting a seat is not that hard in ROTC or an Academy. OCS is fairly competitive. Previous flight experience won't help much with getting a slot but it will help in primary flight training.
