Whiz Kids 1.1

The 1983 classic about suburban california teens growing up in the early era of computing. Stars Matthew Lamborteux and Jeffrey Jacquet. Also stars "Wojo" from Barney Miller and A.Martinez who is in several excellent native american films. Whiz Kids was one season and had a E.T. ripoff scene and a Wargames ripoff episode. Also there was one crossover episode on Simon & Simon season 3 where Ritchie Adler appears.

The E.T. ripoff scene has not been uploaded yet, where they basically repeated a scene from the movie with the same kind of setting. But you're right, the bikes thing was there back in the days, BMX and bikes were in.

It was just getting interesting. I see what you mean about E.T. rip off with the bikes. That was just sort of the trend-hanging out with your friends and riding bikes. I did that.

Oh, also on the "it was just getting interesting" part, 5 full episodes are already up. You just have to look for the next segment to it, in this case Whiz Kids 1.2.

Wow! What a blast from my past. This was one of my fav shows at the time. Sure, they botched the technology, but it was the first show to put real micros in the spotlight, and since I was a budding computer geek, that was all that mattered.

This is what I love about Youtube. You find shows you haven't seen in ages here. I loved this show as a kid...especially the cross-over episode they did with THE WIZARD. Is that one up on here?

The only problem with these dumb shows, like this one, the Bloodhound Gang, and the Hardy Boys et al., is that kids are never going to be smart enough to solve crimes and adults are never so stupid as to get caught like that. The funny thing is there never usually portrayed as kids at all, there dialogue is much too sophisticated and their reasoning and thinking is much too clever.
