20th Century Fox Logo Spoof - Paint Shop Pro

This is styled after the first 20th Century Fox logo introduced in 1935, paired up with a spoof of the Cinemascope extension which came later on. Original parody music by me. 20th Century "FAUX" (meaning false) - I created this to use with my spoofy product promo movies!

I did a lot of painting in Paint Shop Pro. I started with the actual studio logo, and basically just went crazy painting over everything with weird retro items, and reshaping

proportions and the lettering to create something new.

Most notably, the "20" at the top is more stylized than the studio original. To animate the searchlights, I used a light effect in Avid Media Composer.

For the spoof of the CinemaScope logo, I repainted the clouds to look a lot like the original, and found a very similar typeface, and repainted the drop shadow, reusing just a

little bit from the original logo. I duplicated my clouds on a 2nd layer in Avid and zoomed in to make it a seem a little more more dynamic.

The music is one of several original parodies of the Fox Fanfare that I've written and recorded, using various samplers and/or keyboards and multitrack recording software. I

also applied some noise and pitch shifting to create an old sound.

"Why," you ask? I say, "Why not?"
