In 1966 Diamond signed a deal with Bert Berns's Bang Records, then a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. His first release on that label, "Solitary Man", became his first hit. Prior to the release of "Solitary Man," Neil had considered using a stage name; he came up with two possibilities, "Noah Kaminsky" and "Eice Charry."[10] But when asked by Bang Records which name he should use, Noah, Eice, or Neil, he thought of his grandmother, who died prior to the release of "Solitary Man". Thus he told Bang, "...go with Neil Diamond and I'll figure it out later". Diamond later followed with "Cherry, Cherry", "Kentucky Woman", "Thank the Lord for the Night Time", "Do It", and others. Diamond's Bang recordings were produced by legendary Brill Building songwriters Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich, both of whom can be heard singing background on many of the tracks.

  • Sweet, Carl! One of my favorite songs that Diamond did. Great job!! Nice to know there is talent in the family after all. You probably don't know me but I am married to Al Pusatero (42+ years now). He was watching over my shoulder and enjoyed it, too. Keep it up! :-)

  • @msstargazerlily Hi Cousin, I know who you are. I saw you 3 years ago. So good to hear from you. I'm glad you liked it. Are you still in Reno? Do you live near Jerry? Thank's for the Great comment. Say hello to Alan for me............Hugs................Carl

  • anyone ever tell u that you hold a resemblance to the fonze--lol--was glad to loan you my wife in that 1st pic shown on this tube lol---"wink"

  • @chabeworks I don't think The fonze Looks as good as me At 56, but I'll take this as a complement. lol, just kidding, Steve, I just love making these type of videos It gives me the most satisfaction because I feel real, not hiding behind video clips. Unfortunately it's to impressive for most dry, no style singers on Youtube. Believe me I can feel the vibrations. Jealousy, That the story of my life, In many things I do. It's bittersweet. I have no regrets. Thank's Steve for the loan of the wife.

  • @PASSIONMAN47 Thank's very much Vic, It's so nice for me to get into this singing thing so late in life (56) but I guess it's better late than never. I appreciate your friendship. Thank's again my friend.................Carl

  • @cglazaro100 Thank's alot my Brother, The studio recordings do take up alot of time. After the upload before this (Fly me to the moon) I went and did the lip sync trip again on this one. I was able to do this one in shorter time. I would think some people think these videos don't take long. WRONG. So I appreciate your appreciation of this time consuming task. I know how busy you must be Erwin, with all of your comments to deal with. Who would think in such a short time, it would come to this!
