i like having high end pc's not for high quality gaming, but i really enjoy making videos, on my old pc i was in the middle of a giant multiple game video, but my hard drive crapped out on me :[ good idea on the friend invite. and im off

sweet, well be sure to tell me what kinda oc u get out of that if u plan on doin so
-
later on down the road, when i actually care to upgrade, i will probably go with a coolermaster v8. i saw a coolermaster v10. and that thing looks scary as hell, its like a knock off of alien.

school assignment to build a PC? thats badass lol. but yea, the stock cooler on the 940 is pretty damn good, its got a 70mm (approx) fan that spins at 3300RPM (100%) and has copper heat pipes running thru aluminum fins. does a nice job

i had to go with diamond, since i was forced into buying locally. the build im doing is a school project, and i procrastinated until the very end, its due on Wednesday. if i had started this project a month ago when it was assigned, i would of done sapphire.

yea lol, this was my first build and when unboxing, everything was smaller than i had expected except the 4870, its like a freakin brick. what model/brand did u get?
-
wow fast reply :] i was a bit worried about the stock heatsink. tomorrow i start my build of the phenom ii 940, 4870 1gb, in an antec 900. and i did not realize how huge the 4870 is...
i'll b getting the same cpu as you soon
with a big fat nasty cooler is it easy to get it at 3.8 and stable on 3rd party cooler?

should be, these cpus OC really well on lower voltages until you hit this wall where you need a LOT more voltage. Mine is at 3.5Ghz at 1.392v, and to get 3.6GHz i need at least 1.44v+

also, all cpus are different so you may get better or worse results.
