HIPAA INFORMATION UPDATE: http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs8a-hipaa.htm#5

Please read the whole thing, but specifically reference the clause under section 5. Control of Your Medical Information: "Consent" and "Authorization", where it answers the following question:

Can I be denied treatment or coverage if I don't give my authorization?

No. Treatment or health care coverage cannot be denied because you don't sign an authorization. Again, there are exceptions. If the authorization is for research-related treatment, you may not be allowed to participate in the research program without giving authorization to disclose your information. If authorization is requested from a health plan prior to the time you enroll and you refuse to give your authorization, you may not be allowed to enroll.

I'm going to look-up a link to the HIPPA Privacy Agreement and post it here.

  • why in the world would you want to see him after the first event with him?!, after he stormed off i would have said don't send me a bill and i would have left! you a got what what you asked for!

  • Hi there reloader455054.

I called the police to help remedy the situation, not make it worse and arrest me for no reason.

It's not that I wanted to force a jerk doctor into seeing me, it's that he created a circumstance needing attention.

Nothing deserves getting your rights abused by the police, I don't think. You should be able to rely on, be comfortable with, and get lawful service from the police without fear of getting "what you asked for".

  • You can't force a private medical doctor to see you. If they don't want you, like an unrequited love interest. THEY DON'T WANT YOU!!! Simple as that. You should of walked away. What they did is NOT illegal.

  • You should of complained on YELP!!! It is highly effective. Dr. Bytch won't be getting any more patients, then, LOL!!!

  • OMG...I am SO sorry to hear this. When I tried to deliver my subpoena, they gave me somewhat of a hard time...two of the supervisors in both cases were black WOMYN, so I had no problem. One dude refused to sign off on my paperwork until I asked for a supervisor and when she showed up, she signed off on it. Ain't that something...

  • what made you think that the police were going to MAKE a doctor see you? And who the heck would WANT a dr. that didn't want you for a patient. I'd be leary of that one for real. geez

  • Your medical records are covered under the Privacy Act of 1974. There must be something in the HIPPA that in effect adds to the exceptions of who is allowed use of your records.

  • I meant to say can instead of cant on my last post

  • Well dip shit unless u are in dieing need of medical assistance they can't turn you away if you do not consent to filling out their consent form because if they don't have your word in your signature they can get sued

  • @SuperCalvinnhobbes and you are an asshole. close minded MORON. and a slave. wake up dip shit!

  • You are an idiot. An uninformed ignoramous. You have no "right" to medical services and a private doctors office can decline to provide you medical services if they choose.

  • For the deliberately ignorant, HIPPA = Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.

Doctors or other medical professionals can release medical information ONLY under regulations set forth in the HIPPA. It establishes regulations for the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information, and whenever ANY medical information is released, YOU the patient have to be informed.

    Do your homework.
