NICE whens the test?

Unless the edges of the plates are completely sealed and prevented from having exposure to the electrolyte, this will not help out with heat. The excess heat comes from current leakage. That takes place at the plate edges. If they are touching electrolyte, they will leak current, even with the heatshrink on there.. You can telll from the vid, after he is done shrinking it that they heatshrink is not tight against the plate edges. I don't see this being a viable solution to the heat issue.

A simple way to shrink the "shrink wrap" is to put it into boiling water.
If it is not tight enough, then you can use the torch.

Thanks very much did you use the same one for the bottom strip and the two strips connecting the power. Have you connected to a car yet?

yes I used the same strips for the bottom & power leads - however the metal was too thin and it overheated the bolts (I had a melt down). Anyway I fixed the problem by using heavier gauge metal - hope to install the system soon.
right now I am doing before mileage tests to get a baseline.

A heat gun works a lot better for the heat shrink than a torch. I switched from a torch to a heat gun and like it much better.

I agree - but I use it a lot so I dont know if it would be worth the expense.
I will check and see tho - thanks for the tip.
