Issued by the Duo-Art Company, the song is by Sammy Fain and Joe Young and was copyrighted in 1931. For this recording, the roll was played on a Steinway Duo-Art reproducing piano belonging to Nick Jared of San Francisco and recorded in stereo using open reel tape. Dana Suesse's name appears as composer on many other piano rolls, but this is the only roll that lists her as the performer. This arrangement was exclusively available for Duo-Art, and not the AMPICO or Welte-Mignon (Licensee). Many of Miss Suesse's popular songs (Ho Hum, My Silent Love, Have You Forgotten, You Oughta Be In Pictures, The Night Is Yoiung and You're So Beautiful, Yours For a Song, Take This Ring) were issued on piano rolls.

  • THANK YOU for pointing this out: You are So Right! Glad to know someone is observant.

  • The information supplied here reads Irving Kahal co-wrote this song; however, the sheet music in the photograph reads Joe Young wrote the words.

  • THANKS!

  • Radio Pictures "Midnight Mystery" with Ivan Lebedeff, Betty Compson, Lowell Sherman, released 1 June 1930.

  • What movie was the Steinway Duo-Art featured in?

  • Great video you made! Thanks for sharing the music!

  • Hadn't seen most of the still shots of Suesse before. Thanks.

  • Great video and tune.

  • Great Duo-Art roll - beautiful song and arrangement! The Steinway Duo-Art piano used for the recording does it justice - very life-like performance.

I think I have a recording of Anson Weeks orchestra doing this song.
