  • This is soo awesome. Me and my friend is going to audition for the SFYO in 2011.

  • ONCE?!?! dang. ya definatly not engough time!

  • In Venezuela, the musicians not only practice daily with the orchestra, but they are also training like olympic athletes. This is all paid for by Chavez. Dudamel did not have to go to Europe to become a great musician, neither did the Bolivars have to go outside of Venezuela to be as great as they are. Cut and paste: dudamel marche funebre, part 2. This is from Beethoven's Eroica. You guys played great. I want my daughter, who plays the violin to join you guys.

  • and also some ppl were sight reading this stuff... i know i was...

  • we had one rehersal before we went out and performed...

  • And there is no such thing as "too technical". I'm sure it's always a good thing to have perfect technique. Of course, you have to add in the musicality and emotion and whatnot, but how can you criticize an orchestra for playing the piece as it should sound?

  • Keep in mind that the entire collaboration of five youth orchestras only rehearsed together ONCE before this festival... and it was only for maybe an hour or so. And I don't know how you can judge a performance like this with the not-so-optimal sound/video quality. We may not be as good as the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra, but as one of the people who played in this piece, I know for sure that I put emotion into this performance along with everyone else around me.

  • Where is the passon. Check out the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra. This is too technical no feelings.

  • Nice piece of music. Check out "dudamel Shostokovich symphony 10 II movement. Will know your socks off. This was done in the Proms. wtih the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra. Just amazine. Now if you want to check out what the high school age kids are doing (18 y. o. and under) check this out....".Incredible high school musicians from Venezuela! Led by Gustavo Dudamel" in YouTube. It blew me away.
