I don't think Clive can help himself sometimes. It's like his special talent is insults and he can't suppress it. That million dollars crack went a bit too far. Cher was hurt but she got over it and continued with the interview, whereas the bee gees stormed out.
I hope some more of his interviews get posted.

Cher's usually a firecracker but come 3:01 you can tell she was visibly hurt by that comment. I don't usually like Clive Anderson but sometimes he can deliver the beans and throw them at all the right people when he needs to.

This is the first PR I ever heard CHER do on the box office bomb "Faithful". CHER & Chaz Paliterie who starred were so upset with the final edit of the film that none of the stars did any PR in America for the film. The film company that produced the film went bankrupt . The film was shelved for two years. The studio that bailed out the project was willing to have the stars come back and re-edit parts of the film but by then all had moved on with other projects and weren't interested.

Clive Anderson was very different from most interviewers because he didn't kiss celebrities asses like most talk show hosts, the guests reactions often spoke volumes about what they were actually like. I don't think this is that bad because Cher gives as good as she gets.

i love anderson, the man is razor sharp and quicker than a greased whippet. i really don't feel he is being rude or snide at her or anyone's expense.- it was just a genius line; you look a million dollars, is that what it cost; i've met some of those surgically enhanced gaze....... these are just superb lines, all the more audacious when he freewheels and conjurs up the one liners off the cuff. his remark to jeffrey archer - there's no start to your talents, was absolutely spot on! love him.
