@stormlah when everyone in NY was on Jay-z's dick. Especially dj's, like DJ Clue, who had signed with Roc-a-fella/Def Jam at the time. Then Slay went against the grain again backin Cormega when he aired out his beefs with Nas on various diss tracks. Slay always had the disses/drama records, he also always backed underground/new artists, or helped bring back hip hop legends putting their records on his tapes, essentially sweeping the streets for new music (think Wu-Tang, he appeared on The W, etc
