  • It's Rachmaninoff's birthday today, so I thought I would stop by and watch one of my favorite Rachmaninoff piano performances on YouTube. In my mind, the Prelude in D is one of the most romantic piano pieces ever written, and I just adore the tenderness of your interpretation following the climax. The way you take your time and shape the phrases is breathtaking... I wish you all the best with your current musical endeavors!

  • @Rickmaninov Thank you so much for reminding me of Rachmaninoff's birthday! Actually I happened to have just finished running through the first movement of the Rach concerto no.2 (with a second pianist) when I read this comment.

Thank you also again for your kind words. =)

  • That was pure beauty. Very very well done!

  • Thanks, Josh!

  • Nice Job

This is Rach's most passionate prelude i feel!

    Love it

you look really good playing it too!

  • Thank you for the compliment!

  • Hello Lisa, The best performance of this piece I ever heard in my life. You were terrific!

  • This brought me to the verge of tears....just the verge of tears though, I am a man...and men... don't.... cry...*wipes tear from cheek*

  • A comment from a poor white trash dude, fallen. My God! This is so extraordinarily beautiful, and you lift the heavy, ugly curtain, between this f... World, and... The Rest! What is brought, here, is Beauty, sweet, and complete. There is no word!

    THANK YOU!

  • beautiful playing. i've played this too, i have the recording uploaded onto my channel.

  • I'm about to start playing this as well. Just finished Gollywog's Cakewalk and a sonata by Beethoven. Going for this now. I love Rachmaninoff.

  • Amazing. Lovely performance. Well done and thank you for posting.

  • Beautiful..I'm just starting on this piece. The timing is giving me some problems, you played it brilliantly.

  • Thank you. This is one of my favourites!!! It is so plaintive.
