The Minnesota Platoon, founders of The Military Salute Project, are a group of disabled veterans in Minnesota who organized gravesite visitations for Minnesotans, or those with Minnesota connections, who served on or after September 11, 2001 in the United States Army, the United States Marine Corps, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force or the United States Coast Guard, including activated Reservists or members of the Army or Air National Guard, in support of Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom, and who earned one or more of the following decorations for their honorable service ...

National Defense Service Medal,
Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal,
Global War On Terrorism Service Medal,
Afghanistan Campaign Medal,
Iraq Campaign Medal.

Also included are Minnesotans who died while working as security personnel for companies contracted by the United States Department of Defense and a passenger on United Airlines Flight 93.

They were assisted in their project by hundreds of members of the Minnesota Patriot Guard from around the state, some of whom also traveled to Arlington National Cemetery. Patriot Guard Riders from other states also located cemeteries and gravesites interring the remains of Minnesota servicemen, and took pictures on behalf of the Military Salute Project. http://militarysalute.proboards.com
This video is my gift to them. We Will Never Forget.

  • Thank you for including my ANGEL son SGT Jason Schumann, KIA 19 May 2007, Ad Diwaniyah, Iraq. I miss him so much!. He was also 23 years, just an amazing, kind, POLITE person.

5:59 is when see his headstone.

    Scouts Out Angel.

  • @candiesj , Your son's smile says it all. May God give you and your family healing peace.

  • RIP CPL Andrew J Kemple, 187th Inf Reg (Infantry) KIA 02/12/06 at around 6pm on E. 40th St. in Tikrit, Iraq.

    4 years ago today..

He was one of my best friends.

In this video his tombstone comes up at 3 minutes 32 seconds, and then a picture of him smiling.

    He was 23 years old.

Thanks to all who served and sacrificed for both our freedom and the freedom of others.

  • prawcessthegreat, watching his funeral on TV, and then seeing the Westboro protestors outside the church, was the spark that caused many of us here in Minnesota to join the Patriot Guard. We continue to stand watch for all of our service men and women, and their families. Thanks for your coment.
