  • I saw this movie years ago by accident and I have never forgotten it. I can't say it is one of my favorite movies because it is too depressing, but is one whose meaning will never be lost to me. Later I purchased the movie and wrote down the last words spoken by Paul Bowles that were at the movie's end. The movie still haunts my memory today.

  • I adore this based on true events movie - brilliant acting, story line, everything. Debra Winger was trully amazing. John Malkovich and Campbell Scott were great as well.

Everyone must see this fantastic masterpiece!

  • amoooo esta peli..... todo, la historia, los actores la musica , el lugar....heeeermosoooo!!!

  • If a picture says a thousand words, Paul Bowles face says 10,000!!!

  • Dear Jamescat1:

Perhaps you are right, but Bowles statement seems so emphatically made in regards to memories being erased over time seems to me what he is driving at. Yes, everyone thinks we will go on forever, that's the human pysche but by the time we reach the end of our lives most of us except the finality of death. I certainly do though I dread the thought and would be a liar if I said I didn't!

  • @chuckbuckbobuck i dont think he is talking about remembering as such, more how we fail to realize all our memories will end....how we think we will go on forever.

  • I disagree with Mr. Bowles statement that we forget important things in our life over time. I am nearly sixty and remember things from when I was 2, yes 2, 3 & 4 years of life and will never, ever forget them!

  • How many times have I seen this movie? maybe ten times. How many times will I see it again. Maybe another ten, propably less. Alas, la vida es pena!

  • it´s good that someone knows krishnamurti and this movie...
